Genetic DNA memory - Can we remember our ancestor's lives?

I wondered which i heard about his unknown concept..and of course i had never studied about this..the school syllabus gave my just minimum knowledge about the DNA and RNA.....recent times i come to know about this  concept by the  film "7th sense" till then i never knew about this..i don't know is it true and possible or not...

I searched in Internet about this concept and wondered...In the 1988 movie named "ALTERED STATES" starring William Hurt, the main character, a research scientist (Hurt) dives deep into his consciousness and genetic roots. In the film, he not only relives ancient experiences of his ancestors, he actually changes on the biological level....the vision of Hollywood is great....i thought that their is a chance of being true as the research is going on...

firstly i thought only brain in body contains memory..Once in a tv show i knew that  every tissues and organs processes memory like heart.etc..   this Genetic DNA memory says dna is also memory banks and that carries some memory...
