Their are some precautions which have to taken care of in Hot Summer. In this Post i want to give some safety instructions and first aid about the sunstroke which is common in hot summer. I think every one should aware of this basic first aid techniques.

Sunstroke is also known as heat stroke, thermic fever, or siriasis. It happens when the body's mechanisms for controlling temperature fail. Sunstroke is a serious condition and should not be taken lightly.is a life-threatening emergency needing immediate treatment. While many people feel sick and faint during heat waves, most of these people are suffering from heat exhaustion, If you are suffering heatstroke alone or are assisting someone who is suffering heatstroke, follow first-aid directions below.

 Causes of SunStroke


Working or exercising in hot conditions or weather without drinking enough fluids is the main cause of Sunstroke. You can get Sunstroke by not replacing lost fluids over days or weeks, or you can bring it on in a few hours by exercising strenuously on a hot day without drinking plenty of liquids first.

 A person suffering from heat exhaustion will usually be sweating profusely in an attempt to get rid of excess heat.


How to Get Rid of Sunstroke

Drink water and liquid juices as much. try to be on shade rather than under hot sun. Use caps, umberella, etc., while under hot sun.

First Aid for Sunstroke

Scorching sunlight can make a person unconscious. This incident is called sunstroke. People suffer from sunstroke in very hot summer days. High temperature of sunlight produces bad effect on the health of the people and they become unconscious. Such patient may collapse if he is not treated on time. so, every one should know the First Aid for Sunstroke.

1. Get into a shady, cool area.

2. Remove any extra clothing (hat, shoes, socks) to aid in the cooling process. Put off his tight cloths.

3.Get in a cold bath, shower, stream, or pond if possible. Otherwise, Wipe his body with cloth soaked in cold water. put a cool, wet rag on the back of your neck, on your groin, and/or in your armpits. If you can, mist and fan yourself to promote evaporative cooling.

4. Lie down and raise your feet by about a foot (30cm). This will help you avoid potential shock.

5.  Give him some cold drinks. If you have it, slowly sip Gatorade to counteract both dehydration and the loss of salts through sweating, but don’t drink quickly or you could induce shock. If you don’t have Gatorade, sip plain water; trying to hunt down the right beverage in a panic will hurt more than help.

6. Let him rest for sometime. It Minimize the agitation by breathing deeply and focusing the thoughts away from what is happening to them. 

7. If they are not feeling better in a half hour, get to a doctor Call emergency services. Even if they still feel like they are hanging in there, they may start going into shock and be unable to call for help when you really need it.

Prevention of sunstroke or heat stroke first aid

I strongly believe "prevention is always better than cure". So, follow some of the tips to prevent from sunstroke.

1. Remain inside the room if the outside temperature is too high and the sun is shining brightly.


2. Do not walk in the scorching sunlight.

3. Bring water bottles to keep you hydrated in the sun.

4. Walk in the morning or in the evening in hot days.

5. Use umbrella to save your body from the sunlight and Always wear a hat when out in the sun, especially if you are susceptible to sunstroke.

6. Make the atmosphere of the room cool.

7. Use cold water in summer season.

8. Drink a lot of cold water before walking in very hot days.

9. Try to Wear light Cloths and do not wear tight and heavy colths in hot summer.

10. Long exposure to the sun, unprotected, can bring on more than sunstroke. Always be careful.

Do Not Do Any of the Following

1. Do Not Drink alcohol. This can interfere with body temperature.

2. Do Not Drink caffeine. This will tell the body to become stimulated when what it needs to do is calm down.

3. Do Not Take medications for fever (ex. aspirin or acetaminophen). These can be harmful during a heatstroke.

4. Do Not Take salt tablets. Salt is best taken in small quantities and diluted by water.

5. Do Not Force liquids if vomiting.
