Bom Sabado......orkut hacked atlast.......!

The largest social networking website Orkut was infected with the worm/virus , called Bom sabado.
Bom sabado means “Good Saturday” in Portuguese,this virus came from the largest users county that is Brazil.

Looks like it's a bad time for all major social networks out there. Recently, Twitter faced an attack by hackers after a security flaw was unearthed by a user. Soon after, Facebook saw its worst downtime in four years and now its Orkut's turn to be under attack by a worm known as Bom SabadoOrkut has now posted an entry at its support site where it says that the worm is now contained. If you were affected by this, make sure you clear all your browser cookies and more importantly, change your Orkut password.

The below are some security tips for you:
1. DO NOT visit any profile on Orkut till this script is blocked ( More preciously DO NOT use Orkut till this is blocked, as you can get affected by Flash scraps posted on your SB too! )

         2. Clear your cookies and cache right away and change your password and security question :

3. Let your friends know about this script and make them aware of the situation. ( It’s just an effort to minimize the damage )
          4 Log in into Orkut and switch to old version

         5.Log out

         6.Clean the browser cache and cookies

         7.Log in and change your password and security Questions
How to stay away from bom sabado...to save our account ?
  1. The best thing to be stay safe from this new orkut virus Bom Sabado is not to login orkut, till Orkut team has fixed this security loophole.
  2. Do not tell your friends to login orkut till Orkut team has fixed this.
  3. Spread this article to all your Orkut friends through email, facebook, twitter etc and help them to be stay safe from this new Orkut vulnerability.

This is the second major XSS (cross-site scripting) attack on social networking websites. Few days back, the largest XSS attack was there on twitter popularly known as OnMouseOver Twitter Attack which hacked the accounts of many twitter users too.
